Mechanical Estimator (Essex - Greater London)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a very well established company in Essex who are looking to expand on their established team and are recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator working on various sectors but mainly high end residential.

As Mechanical Estimator you will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure that the build up to the Tender submission and all supporting documents are Maintained in a logical and sequential manner.
• Responsible for researching and preparing coherent and cost effective bids / Tenders.
• Produce competitive, commercially viable tenders for new and existing clients.
• Carry out take off's from working drawings.
• Able to negotiate the optimum Tender price from suppliers, wholesalers and Subcontractors.
• Demonstrate an innovative approach to arriving at prime cost.
• Manage the enquiry process with the supply chain and appraise quotations for both Technical and commercial viability.
• Participate in handover of successful bids to delivery team.
• Ensure delivery team understand the technical, financial and key programme issues And the key business drivers and expectations of the client.
• Able to determine the necessity of site visits to understand build ability and risk.
• Demonstrate ability for innovation that differentiates our clients tender from Competition.

Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:

Previous experience of a similar role within a contracting environment

Mechanically qualified, desirable HNC / ONC  Engineering discipline.

Capacity to successfully manage and priorities a high volume of tasks that require completion within tight timeframes or reprioritising to achieve necessary outcomes.

Experience in using estimating Software
