FCC is looking for an enthusiastic, driven individual to join a successful national bid team. We are looking for an individual that is keen to develop in a dynamic environment and is committed to achieving the requirements of the Group Development Strategy.

About the role
As Assistant Project Development Manager, you will support the delivery of a number of projects defined within the Group Development Strategy. You will play a supporting role in developing, preparing, agreeing and implementing new service contracts for all the Group municipal collection, disposal and recycling service contracts as defined by the Group Development Strategy. This will include pre-qualification stages, restricted tender processes, procurement through competitive dialogue and where appropriate negotiated contracts and/or extensions to contracts.

Key responsibilities
• Extracting relevant accurate information and requirements from client’s tender documentation to ensure submissions meet or exceed the tender specification.
• Constructing detailed responses, in the FCC format, which clearly demonstrate how the client’s requirements will be delivered.
• Developing internal relationships with key departments associated with the bid process to create quality bids.
• Developing and maintaining up-to-date industry knowledge, market intelligence, competitor analysis, legislative requirements and best practice in order to produce winning bids.
• Researching, reviewing and updating organisational information to ensure accurate and up to date information is placed in all tender submissions.
• Planning, writing and completing all allocated sections of tender submissions.
• Carrying out the formatting and organising of submission documentation ensuring consistent presentation in line with FCC templates and style guides.
• Undertaking site visits, nationally, that could require occasional overnight stays of up to 4 nights.

What you’ll need
• Educated to degree level or equivalent level of work experience in an organisation with a professional and disciplined approach to project development.
• Experience in the successful delivery of projects to time, budget and specification.
• Driving licence as nationwide travel is required.
• Knowledge of the tendering process (preferably in the Waste Sector).
• Strong communication skills particularly written skills with an awareness of the importance of detail.
• Experience in the preparation and writing of project specific and legal documentation to a high standard.
• Experience in the application of sound project management techniques.
