Salary negotiable dependent upon experience.

Home or office based with full support, training and supervision provided.

Location flexible but must be within the West Midlands.

Who are we?

We are an excellent and expanding independent fostering service (rated as Outstanding by Ofsted in 2013), based in Worcestershire and looking to recruit a social worker to support our growth across the West Midlands. ABC has gained national recognition for its implementation of the Secure Base model of fostering, developed by Gillian Schofield and Mary Beek at the University of East Anglia.

What we need?

ABC believes in providing lasting foster homes, not just placements in a care system. We need qualified social workers able to carry out the assessment and supervision of foster carers. We need social workers who are:

• Flexible and resilient, committed to putting children’s needs at the heart of all that we do;
• Able to work to agreed plans and timescales;
• Willing to work from home if needed;
• Able to work usual office hours but working some evenings and weekends when needed;
• Willing to take part in an out of hours rota system;
• Able to develop constructive relationships with our local authority partners;
• Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the issues and dilemmas of fostering.
