My client are a UK based eRetail operation who have rapidly changed the face of their industry sector by providing goods and services previously the exclusive domain of rthe High Street.

They run a small(ish) but perfectly formed London based modern engineering team who embrace all that is good about Agile, TDD/BDD, DevOps etc and are looking to hire another Python/Django Engineer to work out of their W1 offices.

They use Agile software practices, Scrum specifically, across their technology stack developed using Python, Django, PHP (Legacy), MySQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, HTML, Angular.js, JavaScript, and CSS.

They are looking for someone with an analytical mind who can help solve difficult problems in an SOA focused technical architecture. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to convey issues and your solutions to the team.

Off the back of a very successful 2014, they have big plans for the upcoming year so this is a huge opportunity to work with a great development team using interesting technologies.

Responsibilities;

• Design, test and build reliable and maintainable applications using Python
• Shape and enhance our application development standards through adopting and
• implementing best practices
• Respond to and resolve production issue reports
• Enforce code quality through test driven development
• Support build quality through use of Agile methodologies and practices

Essential Skills Required;

• Extensive experience in application development using Python
• Expertise in HTML5/CSS3/JS
• Experience with Django
• Experience with SOA, web services and message queues

Desirable Skills;

• DevOps experience
• Experience with PHP
• Good understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, TDD, CI, BDD, CD
• Embrace agile software engineering and strive for continuous improvement
• Warehouse/delivery eCommerce experience
• Fulfilment by Amazon API experience
• Working Git knowledge
