Our client, a market leading organisation based in Leeds City Centre, is looking for an experienced Lead PHP Engineer to lead a team of 5 developers providing support and guidance on projects and dealing with issues. Both established Lead Engineers and Senior Engineers with a natural talent for leadership looking to progress in their careers will be considered.

This role will involve a significant amount of man-management (50% of your time will be hands on coding and 50% will be coaching, mentoring and man-management) so this role is the perfect step for a Senior/Lead Developer whose longer term goal is to become a Development Manager.

This organisation is currently undergoing a period of unprecedented growth, and you would be working on some brand new, exciting projects that are integral to the continued success of the organisation.

Lead PHP Engineer: Key Skills and Background

• Team leading experience or a natural flair for leadership
• Proven experience of Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Unit Testing
• Technically fluent in PHP programming
• Experience working within an Agile environment
• Working experience of the development and implementation of software solutions
• Experience in source control systems

Lead PHP Engineer: About the Role

You will be responsible for a team of 5 developers conducting team performance reviews, appraisals and managing personal development as well as providing leadership on projects. You will liaise with key stakeholders in the business, managing expectations and producing cost and timescale solutions. You will also provide expert advice to other business users on technical and operational issues.
