The Ideal Candidate

To support the continued rapid growth of the company, we have a great career opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a multi-disciplined Design Team in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

The Mechanical Engineer will work within a busy drawing office, involved with concept design of specialist bespoke products for the Commercial, Rail and Marine Industries. Along with the rest of the team, the candidate will ensure all of the day to day requirements arising from our sales, production and fabrication departments are dealt with.
The engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of a range of projects, starting from the initial design, working to customer specifications, preparing designs for manufacture and seeing the product through to completion. When required the candidate will also work directly with the customer's engineers and liaising with the sales and production teams. The candidate will provide technical input into the business development and assist with future product development of existing and new products.

Candidate Requirements

*Recognised Engineering Degree
*3+ Years' experience in a similar role.
*Experience of designing from customer specifications using 2D and 3D design, preferably AutoCAD and Solidworks.
*Understanding of assembly and configuration drawings.
*Understanding of the fundamentals of geometric tolerance and mechanical technology including the understanding of material selection.
*Understanding of engineering principals - mechanical and structural.
*Able to work individually as well as part of a team, excellent communicator.
*High attention to detail.
