IBM DB2 DBA (Database Administrator), Z/Platform, Z/os/Zos Platform, Banking

DB2 Z/Platform DBA required by our client, a major UK Banking Group. The DB2 DBA will support and implement changes within the DB2 environment. The DB2 Database Administrator will assist with testing of changes ensuring the solution is fit for purpose and provide feedback where change is required.

Background to the Role and Duties

- IBM DB2, Database Administration (DBA), Wider Knowledge of the z/platform estate, Investigate and promote industry best practice, Support and implement changes to the DB2 estate, Resolution of incidents and problems, Represent databases services in WAR room conference calls with incident management and technical teams in order to restore service, Support testing cycles providing feedback to test managers on results, Manage the Sign-off that solution/service is fit for the Production environment, Provide ad hoc out of hours support, Identify risks across the DB2 estate and develop remediation plan.

- Proven ability to effectively manage workloads to tight timescales, Able to balance business goals with team objectives, Must have strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, Proven ability to work with high profile key platforms to tight timescales, Proven ability to operate/interact and have the gravitas to work with senior managers within Group IT and business areas such as Application Development & Maintenance and Systems Programmers, Strong delivery experience ideally operating in varied IT environments or companies, Proven experience of commercial and organisational awareness and working with 3rd Parties.
