Information Security Specialist

Modis are currently working in partnership with a FTSE 100 company who are seeking an experienced Information Security Analyst to be part of an established team. The team operates and maintains appropriate, adequate and compliant security controls to support overall business goals and strategy.

The Role
The Information Security Analyst is responsible for safeguarding information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems. This is achieved through having a thorough understanding of how IT is delivered to the business and how the group systems interface with each other and are used by colleagues and E-commerce customers and suppliers.

Within this role you will be expected to perform day-to-day operational monitoring and remediation of IT security threats and vulnerabilities using various tools; advise and lead on the security aspects of IT projects by applying good practice and professional standards; implement security controls; and assess potential security risks within a system/application or project with regard to confidentiality, integrity and availability.

Key Responsibilities
*Design and implement appropriate IT security controls within the Enterprise IT Architecture.
*Select, apply and ensure adherence to good information security practice
*Define and implement IT security solutions that align with the business needs and future strategy
*Ensure internal and external suppliers and partners implement security to the required standard
*Specify, understand and monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of IT Security controls
*Work closely with key internal stakeholders to deliver business critical projects, whilst being an ambassador for information security
*Drive action to help achieve continuous improvement

What are we looking for?
*Practical skills in resolving technical security threats and implementing controls in networks, Servers, end-user devices, applications, web services and/or E-commerce
*Excellent communications skills at a technical and non-technical level being able to identify pragmatic alternatives to mitigate threats and risks
*Demonstrable skills and experience in implementing and configuring security systems, tools and programs including writing scripts, defining rules, programming and testing
*Experience with security monitoring tools, network security systems, system and application Vulnerability Scanning, and the full systems and application development life cycle from requirements gathering through design, testing and deployment, and enterprise wide technology implementation
*Adaptable to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
*Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
