My clients products are world class, utilizing technology in different ways and pushing performance ever higher with each new generation of products. Their engineering analysis team plays a pivotal role in the product development cycle by providing analytical understanding and application across a number of product categories.

This management role will co-ordinate the efforts of my clients technical specialists, allowing them to deliver effective and timely solutions. It will also drive development of their Analysis function, ensuring that the people, facilities and methods are continuously improved and that Analysis plays a greater role in their product development cycle.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

*Reporting to the 'Head of Engineering' the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and leadership of a team of engineers with the following specialism's;
oFluid dynamics and thermodynamics.
oStructural analysis (FEA & Moldflow)
oAcoustics and vibration
This multidisciplinary team is responsible for conducting analytical activities involving practical experiment & measurement validation, computer simulations, statistical analysis and hand calculations.

*A key part of this role is to explain findings, conclusions and recommendations to senior management including the Operations and Design Director. The successful candidate will have the ability to do this confidently and appropriately when called upon.

*A significant portion of the role is centred on continuous improvement of the Analysis function, by developing the people, the facilities and the methods used.

Person specification:

*Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Material Science or Mechanical Engineering.
*At least 10 years professional experience, preferably in the field of mass produced consumer goods.
*At least 3 years' experience of managing an Engineering team/function responsible for guiding complex interdisciplinary problem solving and optimization.
*A broad understanding of general engineering principles across mechanical engineering and materials science.
