Do you enjoy working with young people? We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced Youth Support Worker. The post will be based in Thirsk but will deliver the service in locations including The Coast (journeys for business purposes will be paid at GBP0.45 per mile). The Clock is an independent charity which delivers a wide range of services. It delivers North Yorkshire Prevention Team's Active Engagement contract. The North Yorkshire Prevention Team is part of the Children and Young People's Service in North Yorkshire County Council. It works with young people aged 11-19 and up to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities. The service provided through this contract will be predominantly for young people aged 15-19 and up to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs or disabilities (SEND). The Active Engagement Youth Support Worker will predominantly support young people in their final year of compulsory education who have been identified as being at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). High quality information advice, guidance and transition support will be key in this role. We seek people motivated to make a real difference, fully committed to helping young people resolve their problems and achieve positive outcomes. Candidates should have a proven track record of advocating on behalf of young people, networking with other agencies and achieving in a target delivery environment. Candidates should be self directed but able to follow instructions working as part of a multi disciplinary team. You will be an excellent communicator, competent in the use of ICT and keen to continue to develop skills, knowledge and experience to improve the quality of services delivered by you and your team. A minimum of two years experience of working with young people is essential, as is the ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
