Chef - (Live out)

Naval heritage meets contemporary style at the Ship and Trades - a stunning bar, restaurant and hotel in Chatham's stylish marina. It is a successful, busy site with a waterside seating area, 11 en-suite bedrooms, a ground floor bar and first floor restaurant.

Due to business demand we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Chef to join our busy Kitchen team.

This post will see you working on a full time and permanent basis where training will be provided. Ideally you will have some form of similar experience and a food hygiene certificate, but more importantly you need to be keen to learn new and exciting tasks and you will be committed to developing your career and culinary skills.

Day to day you will undertake the preparation and cooking of all food items on the menu for the hotel, bar and restaurant areas, you will work in a fast paced and busy environment following strict hygiene, health and safety rules. You will need to be able to carry out tasks quickly and competently, easily able to follow instructions and capable of working on your own initiative.

You must be flexible in terms of the working hours required of you, and you will be hardworking, honest and reliable, also able to provide us with satisfactory references from former employees. This role demands candidates that are in good physical health as you will be on your feet for most of the shift.

Starting salary is GBP6.50 per hour with progression possible in the longer term and Shepherd Neame offers a great range of employee benefits.
