Event Coordinator/Conference Producer

An opportunity has arisen within a leading Chelmsford company for an Event Coordinator/Conference Producer to work within our Conferences & Exhibitions portfolio. The position has been created to meet a growing demand from customers for events within leading market sectors. The main focus of the role is to produce content for our conferences across a range of topic areas, including but not exclusively for the defence industry.

We're looking for a candidate with the following qualities............

  • An autonomous, self-motivated professional with a hunger to grow their own portfolio

  • Clear understanding of their career roadmap

  • Competitive desire to fulfil their potential

  • Someone who can achieve targets and enjoys new challenges

  • Commercially aware and can understand new industries quickly

  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate internally and externally to all levels

  • Ideally, a background in conference production or content management

The candidate will report into the Strategy Director and be based at offices in central Chelmsford, Essex. The role will be predominantly office based and involve managing the full life cycle of an event from the concept and topic validation stage, right through research, speaker acquisition and delivering the event onsite. International travel will be involved in order to run the conferences and exhibitions that the Conference Producer has worked on. Upon commencement of your employment, you will take part in a comprehensive training programme. It will give you a clear understanding of how and why we put these events on, the processes involved as well as building a strong competitive foundation for your sales career.

On-going training is also provided to keep your skills at their peak.

In addition to this, there is a clear route to promotion and a pay rise for successful candidates during the first year of your employment.

A strong focus is placed on achieving targets whilst delivering excellent levels of customer service. We take pride in delivering our services to customers on every occasion we work with them.

What can successful candidates achieve?

You will enter the business as a Conference Producer with a 4 month probation period during which you will achieve the following;

  • In week one, you will complete a comprehensive training course at my clients Sales and Content Academy that will help to give you the skills needed to be successful in the role. It will also give you in-depth product knowledge of our conferences and exhibitions along with market knowledge of the defence (or applicable) industry

  • After your training course you will begin researching and validating topics and mapping out activities for the production cycles that will follow

  • Within the four month probation period, a full production cycle will be undertaken for your own event, with you becoming the subject leader within our organisation

  • Throughout the probation period and beyond you will be given on-going support and training

After the completion of the probation period, you will be able to achieve a promotion to the next rung within the production department.

As you are promoted through the different levels within the production department, other opportunities will open up to you that may include managing other parts of the function or becoming a portfolio team leader.

Holiday allowance: 30 days (10 of which must be taken at Christmas)

The standard working hours are 8.30am until 5pm.
