Considering a role in the not-for-profit sector?

Linc Care operates across South Wales and provides homes and services to older and vulnerable people.

Capel Grange opened in 2009 as a 72 bedded Nursing Home for residents with general nursing needs and EMI nursing. Our home has excellent staff to resident ratio’s, fantastic facilities and equipment, and a culture of continuous improvement within all aspects within our care philosophy. We have adopted the ‘Eden Alternative’ approach to care, and place the individual at the heart of our care philosophy.

We are looking to recruit a qualified an experienced Physiotherapist who will provide high standards of care and individually tailored assessment and treatment for our Elders. Your aim will be to build positive relationships with all people living and working within the Nursing Home, as well as fostering and creating opportunities to give and receive support/help. You will work closely with the Nursing Home Manager, Clinical Lead, and Linc’s own Occupational Therapist to provide a true MDT approach to the care we deliver.

Specific duties will include:

  • Assess Elders who may need specialist equipment, treatment plans, physiotherapist interventions and adaptations to maximise independence and safety across nursing services and in the community when required.

  • Provide teaching and support to other team members to help the development of skills and competence.

  • Provide support and guidance to Elders and staff regarding the use of equipment and layout of environment to maximise independence.

  • Promote choice and control for Elders.

  • Maximise activity and independence.

You will have bundles of enthusiasm, professionalism and fantastic communication skills when delivering physiotherapy care to our elders. You will be expected to lead by example at all times, ensuring that the home remains compliant with all current legislation, and be able to communicate sensitive information to Elders and their relatives with empathy and reassurance. It is essential that you have Bachelors in Physiotherapy and HPC. Given the complex nature of this patient group and the necessity of managing risk, we expect applicants to have an excellent understanding of the needs of older people. You will need a full driving license, with access to a vehicle insured for business use.

In return you will enjoy a competitive salary, full induction, continual professional development and the chance to work as part of a professional and dynamic team. Benefits include generous sick pay and pension, and 34 days annual leave, including bank holidays. Hours worked will largely be Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm.

If this sounds like you and you would like an informal discussion or arrange an informal look around the service, please call Abigail Katsande on 01633 258910.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 22nd April 2015, however applicants are advised to apply for the role as soon as possible. Linc reserves the right to interview and appoint before the closing date should an outstanding applicant be found.

No Agencies or CVs please.
