247 Professional Health have been working on an exciting new project.

We have several full time fantastic opportunities for the right candidates to encourage and motivate children, with autism, to develop life skills, and participate in a range of leisure activities, educational interests and social opportunities which offer positive challenge within a safe and structured environment.

This role requires a patient, understanding and hard working person that will aim to support the service users to be as independent as possible.

This service gives the children the ability to improve employment prospects, independent living ability, leisure activities and overall improve their quality of life.

The process begins by registering with 247 Professional Health, this allows us to carry out all the relevant child safety checks.

Key Responsibilities

  • To meet the needs of children and young people
  • Contribute to the protection of children and young people from abuse
  • Contribute towards and work within the residential placement plan for each child/young person
  • Carry out statutory objectives in line with relevant legislation
  • Comply with the organisation’s administrative and financial procedures
  • Maintain accurate, well-kept and up-to-date records
  • Promote Health and Safety at work
  • Promote people’s equality, diversity and rights
  • Carry out duties in an appropriate and professional manner at all times

Key Tasks

  • Contribute to the assessment of individual children’s/young people’s needs and circumstances in line with the National Service Framework for Assessment
  • Ensure the protection of individuals from abuse
  • Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic programmes to enable individuals to manage their behaviour
  • Prepare, implement and evaluate agreed therapeutic activities
  • Review children’s/young people’s individual needs and circumstances in line with statutory and departmental requirements
  • Provide a framework for the management of behaviour
  • Support children/young people and, to some extent, their families to address issues which affect their health and social well-being
  • Promote children’s/young people’s social and emotional development
  • Promote children’s/young people’s sensory and intellectual development
  • Observe and assess the development and behaviour of children/ young people.
  • Represent children’s/young people’s interests when they are not able to do so themselves
  • Establish and maintain relationships with parents/carers
  • Support children/young people experiencing a change in their care requirements and provision
  • Enable children/young people to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance
