Wheelchair Technical Instructor
Salary: NHS Band 4 equivalent
Based in Huddersfield: Full time role
(25 days holiday, pension contribution)

The Technical Instructor for the Wheelchair Service is required to work as a member of the Wheelchair Team, to deliver a high quality Occupational Therapy Wheelchair Service to wheelchair users, their carers and families.
He/she will be responsible for a delegated caseload, in the implementation and evaluation of Occupational Therapy interventions under the guidance of the First Line Manager. They will be required to work with Occupational
Therapy colleagues across all programmes of care, responding to clients with range of physical, sensory and learning disabilities.
He/she will provide technical information and advice relating to wheelchairs, seating systems, pressure relieving cushions and wheelchair accessories. They will be required to analyse technical problems, determine feasible adjustments and action appropriately. They will also be required to participate in local wheelchair clinics and to deliver skills training programmes with wheelchair users and carers.
