Support Worker (Waking Nights / Full or Part Time)

Affinity Trust support people with learning disabilities as it believes that every adult has the right to own an independent and fulfilling life. They are a national charity that provide high-quality personalised support for over 700 adults with learning disabilities and autism. Helping them to live a worthwhile life is their main goal.

As a Support Worker your role will be supporting a gentleman with complex behavioural needs in his own home. He is autistic and likes routine and structure. He is regularly physically and emotionally challenging towards staff. He enjoys accessing the local community and needs support with all aspects of his life, including, housework, paying bills and shopping.

An understanding of supporting people with complex needs would be an advantage. You will need to be a good listener and to be motivated about the way you provide support.

As support worker you will receive a proper training and complete shadow shift before working with the people we support.

Ideally, we are looking for a male or female who is confident and proactive and can empathise with the difficulties this gentleman presents. We also require someone who is committed to supporting him to achieve a high quality of life and to encourage him to achieve his wishes and goals.

This role involves personal care. You will need to be very confident in lone working situations.

The shift patterns include late shifts, weekends and waking nights as your hours are set to meet the needs of the people you support.

Working hours: Part time, full time and waking nights
Salary: Up to £14,317 pa plus 10% enhancements for weekends
