JOB SUMMARY The Senior Sales Manager will provide total account management support for their assigned property accounts. By applying the principles of strategic account management, this position will partner with Sales and Marketing leadership, and the Leadership team, to develop a comprehensive strategic plan to grow market share from their assigned accounts. As Senior Sales Manager, this individual will develop strong partnerships with buyers for the purpose of penetrating and growing market share and driving sales for hotel. The position will focus specifically on growing market share from transient and group revenue. The position has one direct report and requires day to day training and supervision of the Sales Executive. JOB SPECIFIC TASKS The Senior Sales Manager will execute the overall account strategy for assigned accounts to generate and maximise business for THE LONDON EDITION. Overall, the position is accountable for the following: ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT ?? Develop and implement the overall account strategy for assigned accounts. Execute sales strategy to achieve property goals. ?? Retain, expand and grow account revenue of existing accounts through total account penetration, margin management, and implementation of sales and marketing initiatives. Penetrate assigned accounts for group and transient, as well as exploring opportunities for extended stay and catering sales business. Maintain current business Accounts for new business within accounts. ?? Develop and implement strategic sales plans. Execute designated sales strategies to develop and solicit specific accounts to achieve revenue goals. ?? Collaborate and engage third parties that are sourced through the organization for their individual travel or group planning needs. ?? Serve as the account's "local service guarantee" by ensuring that outstanding service delivery is maintained at every customer touch point, issues are resolved timely and to the customers' 100% satisfaction. ?? Build and strengthen Accounts with existing and new customers, industry organizations and brand network to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc. ?? Understand the overall market dynamics - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and how to sell to assigned accounts. Act as the customer's advocate through understanding account needs and opportunities. Identify emerging business opportunities and risks within assigned accounts and provide feedback to key stakeholders. ?? Participates in local and international travel if required to represent the hotel at trade shows, sales missions, conferences etc. and in compliance with the annual business plan. ?? Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g., Event Booking Centre, Market Sales, Ritz-Carlton and Marriott Global Sales Organization) to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative. ?? Responds promptly and appropriately to incoming business leads. ?? Identify and implement process improvements and best practices. ?? Promote accountability to drive superior business results. ?? Includes successful execution of Sales strategies and business processes. ?? Conduct and coordinate site inspections and FAM trips, as required. ?? Establish and maintain accurate and up-to-date customer, account and opportunity data each account in Opera Sales and Catering to ensure accurate reporting. GUEST SATISFACTION ?? Effectively resolve guest issues that arise in the sales process. Bring issues to the attention of the Guidance Team, as appropriate. ?? Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies customer service and creates a positive example for guest relations. ?? Works with other employees to provide excellent customer service. Establishes guidelines so employees understand expectations and parameters. ?? Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals and/or managers; continuously strives to improve service performance. ?? Gains understanding of the hotel's primary target customer and service expectations; serves customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solutions both prior to, and during the program/event.. ?? Sets a positive example for guest relations. LEADERSHIP ?? Takes responsibility for the training and development of the Sales Executive ?? Conducts regular 1-2-1's and personal development plan reviews with direct report ?? Proactively identifies and develops talent within the organization. ?? Leverages all available on the job training tools. ?? Understands business goals and works with Sales Leadership to create appropriate business plans. ?? Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with team members and employees. ?? Actively solicits feedback and acts upon it where appropriate. ?? Ensures regular on-going communication is happening in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives. ?? Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members. ?? Delegate and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence). FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ?? Participates in the budget development process and business planning process for the Sales & Marketing Department. ?? Assists in managing department's controllable expenses (travel, entertainment) to achieve or exceed budgeted goals. ?? Attends Revenue Meeting on a regular basis. ?? Takes charge of the Global RFP process and Annual Special Rate negotiation process. Other ?? Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
