Job Summary:

You will be responsible for data gathering and analysis in our environment with the goal of providing data driven insights directly to our management team. You will work closely with the database and storage administrators to automate the collection of the data you need and to make sure our platform is continuously refined to gather new sources of data.

Every day, we bring online more than 50TB of data so it is important that you either have a keen understanding of what this implies for your analysis or a voracious appetite to learn from our team how to handle and query such data sizes. You will play a central role in the decision making of the company.

Job Duties:

•Work with our database and storage administrators to automate data collection
•Working with large amounts of data and digging through facts and figures to find and report on data needed by end users
•Model our big data / data warehouse to extract information needed for the business
•Create and maintain recurring and ad-hoc reports based on end-user requirements
•Create star schema data models, performing ETLs and validating results with business representatives
•Support implemented BI solutions by: monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues.
•Use statistical modelling to derive insights about our user base and to look for cost optimisation
•Work with the development team to fine tune data gathering based on your previous analysis
•Provide reporting to management and influence decision making
•Maintain relationships with end users to identify and develop additional data sources for the data warehouse consistent with business rules and customer needs.

Job Requirements and Experience:

•2+ years of knowledge and use of Analysis and Reporting Services such as SSRS, SSIS, GA and Mixpanel.
•2+ years of knowledge and use of data warehousing and modeling methods, techniques, standards and procedures.
•2+ years using T-SQL (or similar) Programming skills with experience in query optimization, report automation & performance tuning.
•1+ years using MS Excel with ability to use vlookups, power query and power pivot.
•Degree in Maths/Statistics/Economics/Finance/Computer Science preferable with at least 1 A-Level in Math required.
•High levels of mathematical ability with good skills in statistics and interpreting data sets visually.
•Financial and commercial awareness desirable.
•Excellent analytical skills.
•Methodical and logical approach to work with strong problem solving skills.
•Self-motivated with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
•A strong grasp of data modeling.
•A strong theoretical ground in statistics.
