Trainee Applications Engineer - Tees Valley - £20-25k (neg) + benefits

Working for this global engineering specialist, this role presents an opportunity to utilise a number of skills including 'hands on' repair work and dealing with customers directly and over the phone, with a commercial slant. The role carries a high level of responsibility for achieving the business objectives of customer service and for achieving revenue and contribution margin within their allocated industry sector. Also, working closely with the Aerospace Sales Manager in setting pricing levels and delivering timely and accurate enquiries.  To be a vital member of the sales team supporting the winning of profitable business will be a major element of the role.

Main Duties:

Interpretation of customer requirements and ability to produce accurate and on-time quotations in line with company procedures. Fault finding and repair of mechanical assemblies (pipework and valves) Have commitment to weekly forecasts and the enquiry log. To proactively pass on leads to field sales and ensure opportunities are maximised. To manage quotations in a competent and professional manner and ensure adequate follow up where necessary. Ensure orders are entered/expedited regularly and product lead-time information. To develop open and constructive working relationships with colleagues both within and outside of the Sales Team.

Experience and Skills

Ideally ONC + qualified Mechanical engineering experience or training required Some experience with Valves or pipework would be ideal.  Ability to read engineering diagrams, drawings and schematics preferred.
