Job Title: Service Manager / Registered Manager

Location: Wigan, Lancashire

Salary: 24,000 - 30,000 per annum

Duration: Perm

Over the past 28 years our client has grown to be a major provider of support services in the region and currently have 700 employees. They provide support services in a variety of settings to people with disabilities including individual supported living, mental health service and employment, respite/short term breaks, registered care homes as well as extra care housing.

As the Manager, you would be responsible co-ordinating services, for developing links with purchasers, conducting, quality audits, overseeing inspections, developing systems, managing new contracts, recruiting, training and managing staff, and ensuring that service users are provided with person-centred support that enables them to have the life that they want.

We are looking for an organised individual who can demonstrate commitment to the principles of Valuing People and the Health & Social Care Act, as well as the maintenance of existing and development of new services. If you feel you meet the following criteria we look forward to hearing from you.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Education to minimum NVQ 5 / QCF 7 or equivalent Management Qualification.
  • Two years experience of leading, supervising, and managing staff teams.
  • Experience in formulating and delivering support and care packages for individual service
    users living in the community.
  • Experience of working to CQC regulated activities.
  • Experience of supervising other staff delivering support, and of monitoring, measuring and evaluating the quality of the care / support and the outcomes.
  • Experience of liaison with parents, carers, outside agencies, especially local authority social services departments and employers.
  • Experience of working with service users with disabilities on a one to one basis.
  • Basic knowledge of marketing strategies.
  • Ability to build excellent working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop local systems and procedures and relevant performance indicators.
  • Ability to effectively track systems and outcomes.
  • Skilled in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
  • Car driver essential.
