A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Component Technician to join a leading contract manufacturer offering total solutions to bespoke electronics requirements. With a history of 25 years as the leader in supplying high quality and high reliability products to a variety of leading Aerospace, Defence and Industrial Control companies, this opportunity is not to be missed.

The role
As a Component Technician you will confirm acceptability of alternative components proposed by our client’s automated best match system and approving parts for purchase. Other responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with the acceptability of alternative components proposed by the automated best match system and approving parts of purchase.
• Identifying alternative parts suitable to the customer specification to offset lead time issues.
• Identifying and removing duplicate part numbers within the Vantage system.
• Identifying stock and non-stock consumable items on customer Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Assessing and improving current automated component matching systems.
• Importing completed and verified BOMs into the Vantage system.
• Verifying customer BOM conversion pre-import.

What you’ll need
• Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) or above with qualifications in Maths and English.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access. Knowledge of other MS Office packages.
• Knowledge of data storage and revision control.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
