The client
This is a fantastic opportunity with one Scotland's leading construction companies for a Supply Chain Development Manager at an exciting stage in their continued growth and development.
The role
Working within a dynamic Supply Chain team, you will have a diverse and varied role with a range of duties and responsibilities with a main aim to lead supply chain activities across the business to support the strategic approach to divisional objectives whilst developing robust operational plans to manage supply chain processes and activities in accordance with the client's Procurement & Supply Chain Management Strategy. Establishing performance led, long term supplier relationships focusing on value for money, service & product quality driving continuous improvement to develop competitive advantage.
You will oversee all aspects of supply chain processes accompanied with other duties that will include;
* Support Bid teams in work winning, strategic supplier selection, supply chain solutions, bid submissions, local engagement events
* Oversee the evaluation, management and supervision of the Approved Supplier Database and the approval process
* Focus on exceeding minimum service expectations by delivering an agile, value adding service with a deep understanding of customer requirements, technical competence, functional knowledge and process efficiency.
* Liaise with project delivery teams to resolve and mitigate supply chain management issues
Act as the strategic interface between the supply chain and all stakeholders within the internal business unit functions.
Qualifications and Requirements
Qualified to Level 6 CIPS, degree or equivalent industry experience. An interest in studying towards full MCIPS membership is advantageous
The role will require substantial experience (at both a strategic and project level) within supply chain including developing innovative supply chain solutions, supply chain principles, procedures methods, performance measurement and improvement tools & techniques, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
The role will require strategic thinking, leadership, influencing and change management, as well as a proven track record in people management.
The individual will need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record of effectiveness in managing and operating robust supplier relationships, solve problems, possess analytical skills, strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance internal/external customer focus. The ability to adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance, is essential
