NETWORK ANALYST

This position is for a large organisation, based near Southampton. This opportunity is to work within the organisation's Security Operations Centre (SOC) as an Analyst with a responsibility to identify, notify and respond to Cyber security threats across the large and distributed IT estate. Auditors of this technically advanced Cyber Security Ops Centres have already commented on it being one of the best in Europe. As the department is still in its relative infancy successful applicants can expect to play a key role in the advancement of implementing cutting edge next generation tools and processes in an end to end SOC role. Its management is looking to recruit ambitious Cyber talent.

The company (FTSE 100) will invest in you, providing training and accreditation for SANS GCIA & GCIH. You will also learn cutting edge Cyber tools eg leading Log Management and Security Intelligence. There will be sponsorship for SC Clearance immediately followed by DV Clearance after 6 months. Therefore you must be BRITISH; as customers include HMG Government organisations often operating at or above Secret classification.

Remuneration for this role is circa GBP55,000 depending on experience.

Working conditions include shifts rotated on a weekly basis (07:30 - 15:30 || 08:30 - 16:30 || 09:30 - 17:30). There is an on call duty rota of one week in 6 with out of hours pay of circa. GBP250 for the week.
Cyber security mind-set and a passion for analysis is the most important attribute for this role. To be considered we are ideally looking for an IT Security Analyst with preferably some SIEM, IDS experience. For the right person fast-track training is on offer. However, there is a need for hands-on IP Traffic Analysis tools, ideally Wireshark or TCPDUMP, with strong network IP and protocol knowledge.
