The Job…

We are now recruiting for a teaching assistant in a Pupil Referral Unit in Derby. It is a full time, long term position. This role would suit someone with experience of working with challenging behaviour. We are looking for a teaching assistant who can:

• Treat the assignment as if it is a permanent role, injecting a sense of purpose into the classroom.
• Work in a proactive manner, helping the school to the very best of their ability
• Ensure effective classroom management in line with the schools behaviour policy

The School...

• Provides full time education for pupils from Key stages one to four who have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school or Academy.
• Aims to provide collaborative learning for vulnerable children, young people and their families using holistic approaches to positive academic and social development.

The Child...

• Students excluded from mainstream schools or academies.
• Working with children in key stage one and two.
• Many of the young people will have additional learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.
