Mechanical Design Engineer - North East

Due to increase in project workload my client have a requirement to strengthen their R&D team in North East England.

This engineer will be involved with product development from initial concepts through to volume production. They must have the ability to analyse problems from first principles and come up with innovative and cost effective solutions. They must work well as part of a team but also be capable of working on their own to a specification and produce work meeting the company quality requirements.

Role:-
*Design and development in 3D CAD of enclosures for electronic controls which use a variety of metal and plastic parts
*Product design from concept to production support
*Work in a cross functional team to achieve project objectives
*Supervise technicians
*Work to company quality standards

Must have experience and skills:-
*Proven 3D solid modelling proficiency with Solidworks
*Product design for small to medium volume manufacturing (1k to 50k PA)
*Design of electronic products with environmental sealing
*Injection moulding and die-casting design
*Machined part design (milling/turning)
*Rapid prototyping techniques
*Material selection
