Our client is a rapidly expanding IFA company specialising in telephone based financial advice. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced financial services professional to join their compliance department in the capacity of Compliance Officer. Candidates will be responsible for file auditing and monitoring, involving assessment of the suitability of the advice, checking that adequate "know the client" information is recorded and ensuring that the file meets company and regulatory standards. You will ensure that any file check remedial work is completed in a timely manner and that it is recorded. Job Title: Compliance Officer
Salary: £18,000 - £21,000 pa
Based: Preston, Lancashire
Candidates need to have a proven financial services background and be analytical with good problem solving skills.
Principal Accountabilities
*To review client files to assess the quality of advice provided to retail customers
*To construct samples of client files based on defined criteria
*To provide feedback on the results of monitoring activity to management and staff across the operation
*To generate management information for all levels of management, including the Board, and to provide explanatory narrative
*To make recommendations for improvements to current processes
*To highlight trends and systemic issues, and to assist in the development of appropriate solutions
*To provide input based on empirical evidence to the ongoing development of the company's risk model and risk based approach to monitoring
*To assist in the ongoing development of the company's oversight capability
*To maintain up to date knowledge on all retail investment products and to keep abreast of all developments in regulation, legislation, taxation and relevant markets
