As a Subcontract Manager at Thales you'll manage contract agreements between our business and its selected partners, from placement though to close out. Join us and you'll put your purchasing, supply chain and project management knowledge to the test; developing your career whilst improving the UK's mainline, urban and suburban rail networks.

Key responsibilities

Ensuring we have the right subcontracts in place and interpreting customer terms and conditions in order to draft robust contracts
Processing and certifying payment applications in accordance with the contracted agreement
Carrying out ongoing performance reviews and maintaining an overview of subcontractor cost, quality and schedules
Identifying, monitoring and implementing changes to scope of works and there cost implications
Building lasting relationships with suppliers
Monitoring subcontractor cost and setting targets against subcontract requirements
Document and maintain all contractual records whilst ensuring all contract documents are fully executed by all parties
Identifying potential risks, issues and disputes with our contracts and working with our internal teams to overcome them.

Skills, qualifications and experience

A history of managing complex, high-value subcontracts in a multidisciplinary setting, ideally within the rail industry
Experience in negotiating, contract law and post contract management, plus an appreciation of BS 11000 ways of working
A relevant degree or equivalent, enhanced by practical knowledge of delivering in a major programme environment
An analytical, strategic mindset together with a keen financial sense and relevant purchasing, commodity and category management exposure
The communication and influencing skills to build productive relationships at all levels of the business.
