As Female Community Support Worker, you’ll offer advice, guidance and support to individuals who are experiencing mental health problems – enabling them to access activities within the community - promoting social inclusion and supporting service users to reach their full potential.

This will include:

  • Supporting service users to realise their personal aspirations and goals by supporting them to access a wide range of community-based opportunities
  • Developing a network of contacts and forging links with community groups
  • Offering both practical advice and guidance, and emotional support
  • Promoting the service within the community and to other agencies
  • Making sure service users receive all the benefits they’re entitled to, providing up to date advice on welfare benefits and housing
  • Assisting service users in practically managing their financial affairs, encouraging their participation in work, social and leisure activities
  • Maximising their social and daily living skills and boosting their self-esteem.

You will need:

  • The ability to motivate others and handle potentially stressful situations
  • Plenty of initiative and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage your own workload
  • Experience of using IT and the proven ability to maintain up-to-date records and systems
  • Good partnership working skills.
