Job Title: HR Adviser

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: circa £18,000 - £20,000 pa

Our client is a provider of home care provision, providing high quality services for adults and children in the community.  They currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Adviser to join the existing HR team. 

Job Role:

This is an interesting role with lots of variety.  You will enjoy working in a busy environment, managing a varied workload and building strong relationships with the recruitment and operational teams involved in ensuring excellent service provision. 

Based in Newcastle, reporting to the Head of HR, the role is to provide staff and managers with HR support to a high standard contributing to the overall high quality service the company provide. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the recruitment team, providing support to ensure that the company promote a positive candidate experience in the recruitment and selection process following safe recruitment practices to meet legislative compliance
  • Guide and support managers investigating disciplinary, grievance, appeals and other issues, providing sound guidance and appropriate support
  • Provide support and advice to managers and staff on HR policy/procedural issues, ensuring that communication to them is accurate and clear
  • Provide monthly reports on HR activity as required
  • Analyse trends including absence, performance and turnover
  • Contribute to HR projects, including updating of policies and procedures, improving HR systems, supporting the appraisal process, developing absence management processes

The Candidate:

  • The successful candidate must have strong HR generalist background and able to demonstrate their ability to provide sound generalist HR advice across a broad range of activities.
  • This may suit individuals who are ready for their first step into an advisory role providing they already have a sound HR background.
  • Previous experience in a health & social care environment would be an advantage. 
  • Preferably with or working towards a professional qualification in HR, you will also be competent working with management systems.
  • There will be a requirement to travel from time to time to other branches and a full driving licence is a requirement for the role.
  • You will have an ability to build and sustain positive professional relationships and have good negotiation and mediation skills.

The Company Offer:

  • Hours of work will be 37 per week with 28 days annual leave plus recognised statutory holidays and pension scheme.
  • Salary package for this position will be circa £18-20,000 pa dependant on experience.
