Our client is looking to recruit a well organised Accounts Assistant to support in the provision of an efficient and effective accounts and finance service to a wide range of customers within the organisation. Job Purpose:
To maximise and provide effective and efficient financial service in supporting the organisation.

Duties:
*Credit Control / Purchase Ledger
*Journal Entries
*VAT Returns
*Payroll
*Banking
*Petty Cash Handling
*Dealing with Tennant Deposits
*You will also carry out general financial and administrative duties including the recording of financial transactions, payment of creditors and issuing of recharges.

The Ideal Candidate:
*The successful applicant will also register tenants deposit with the Deposit Protection Service and issue cheques and to return deposit promptly at the end of the tenancy.
*The applicant will also take an active role in preventing/recovery of arrears, liaising with the lettings team and advising them when arrears begin accrue.
*You will also be responsible of raising invoices to ensure prompt payment and to prevent any delays in recovering income.
*This roles requires liaising with externals customers and internal colleagues therefore we are looking for someone with excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
*The successful candidate will have experience of working in a finance environment and although knowledge of sage is ideal it is not essentials as full training will be given.
*They must also be competent in the use of IT systems, possess good analytical skills and have the ability to work to conflicting deadlines.
*The ideal candidate would have an AAT level 3 or higher.

The successful applicant will have to opportunity of career progression through internal and external learning. The successful candidate will be supported in achieving industry recognised qualifications and to take on a wider role of overseeing the preparation of VAT returns, payroll processing, management accounts enquiries, help in production of year end accounts, implementing new processes to streamline accounting systems. This will be reflected in the remuneration package offered.
