Job Elements: -
• To work as part of a team responsible for new production introduction and transfer to production, providing manufacturing support and improvements as required.
• Supporting the interface between design and manufacturing on new product development, from concept to final release.
• Providing input to Manufacturing and Project Proposals on process development timescales, resource levels, assembly costs and budgets, and risks.
• Planning and coordinating process design, development, validation and documentation, ensuring design is adequate for manufacture and assembly.
• Responsibility for the planning and execution of development activities related to the manufacturing process (including designing, developing and maintaining jigs, tools and fixtures within cost targets and project timelines)
• Supporting yield improvements and productivity improvements.
• Preparing and maintaining records of all documentation, including drawings, sketches, calculations etc.
The ideal candidate will have:
• HNC / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or other electro-mechanical or related discipline.
• Previous experience of working within a highly regulated industry e.g. aerospace, nuclear, automotive.
• Experience of Mechanical Design for Manufacture, CAD, fixture design, new product introduction, and manufacturing support and improvements.
• Experience of using process control tools and improvement techniques, line balancing and lean manufacturing.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and tolerances.
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft project.
• Knowledgeable in basic statistics and use of spreadsheets.
