Bridge Mental Health has an exciting opportunity through their Recovery College Greenwich for a full time Receptionist/Learning Assistant to join us. We are based in the centre of Woolwich, South East London.

The successful applicant will join us on a permanent basis and will receive £18,000 per annum

Recovery College Greenwich offers a wide range of courses, workshops and seminars to support people with mental health problems as they develop their skills and talents on their journey through recovery.

The principle tasks of the Receptionist/Learning Assistant are given below; however they do not represent an exclusive or static list of responsibilities:

The Receptionist/Learning Assistant is the first point of contact for all visitors to Recovery College Greenwich. The Receptionist will ensure the efficient welcome of visitors, respond to telephone enquiries and assist with the day to day running of Recovery College Greenwich ensuring the college runs effectively for students, carers and staff.

The Receptionist/Learning Assistant will also be responsible for the smooth running of our ‘front of house volunteer programme. Providing regular support for the college’s volunteers and maintaining volunteer records.

To develop and sustain positive working relationships with staff, students, carers and external partners.

To liaise with relevant teams and organisations in order to provide administrative support as required.

To liaise with front of house volunteer and their training support provider.

To report to the Recovery College Co-ordinator

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Skills required by our ideal Receptionist/Learning Assistant:

- Good level of maths and written English

- Knowledge of standard office administrative practises and procedures

- Excellent organisational and planning skills

- Excellent communication skills – written and oral

- Ability to engage with people who may not be confident

- Computer Literate

- Able to show initiative

- Judgement and decision making skills

- Attention to detail and accuracy

- Unwavering commitment to confidentiality

- Proficient computer skills and in depth knowledge and skills in MS Office Suite

- Development and implementation of administrative systems and processes

- Awareness of equal opportunities best practice and implications in supporting service delivery

- Able to self-manage and prioritise

- Willing to be flexible and respond to priorities as required

- Willing to undertake training, as required.

Awareness of Health & Safety practice

Desirable Knowledge, Experience and Skills required by our ideal Receptionist/Learning Assistant:

- Working with volunteers

- Understanding of mental health

- Understanding of supported learning
