The successful candidate will use their own interest in sport to inspire and motivate people to try sport as a way of improving and maintaining their mental health.
Sports Coordinator
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexibility is required including some evening and weekend work)
Location: Dudley, West Midlands
Salary: up to £22k per annum
Fixed term for 18 months initially
Our client aims to promote mental health and to support people who have mental health problems. They are working with National Mind and Sport England on the new Get Set To Go Sports Programme and we are recruiting a Sports Coordinator to develop and deliver the project.
You will need excellent communication skills to build relationships with the sport sector and so increase opportunities for people with mental health problems to access local sport activities.
An understanding of mental health problems is essential. As part of overseeing the project, you will also be managing a team of peer volunteers and supporting people to attend mainstream sport activities.
