Oakwood’s Themed Restaurant seeks an experienced Cook/Chef

Seasonal Full Time Post

Immediate start to October 2015

Salary - £16,000 - £18,000

About our Restaurant

Oakwood is home to a newly refurbished themed restaurant and bar: The Oak Tree Restaurant.bar.grill that accommodates 150+ covers and serves locally sourced produce wherever possible.  Our restaurant highlights and showcases the very best of Wales by serving up high quality, freshly prepared and delicious dishes every day to our Park guests!

About The Role

Working very closely with the Oak Tree’s Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for preparing food to order, cleaning and washing up, whilst maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and compliance with hygiene regulations at all times. 

You will lead and motivate a small team of kitchen assistants in this busy, fast moving environment whilst regularly evaluating food standards and food presentation. 

About you

You will be a strong leader who has had previous experience in developing a team and has worked in a fresh food environment. 

Trained at NVQ level 1 & 2 in food prep and cooking in addition to a basic food hygiene certificate would be a distinct advantage.

Hours of work will vary according to the needs of our unique business, so a flexible approach is definitely required.  This role is predominantly day based, with some evening work required to cater for our late night openings.
