Based in Berkshire working for a global leader in the supply of high performance mixed-signal semiconductor solutions to the consumer electronics market. In the home, their innovative technology can be found at the heart of many of the world's leading digital consumer goods, including mobile phones, tablet computers, premier hi-fi equipment, gaming devices, MP3 players, flat panel televisions, digital still cameras and portable navigation devices.

The Senior Acoustic Design Engineer will be responsible the following

*Responsible for experimental design work on prototype Acoustics and Audio designs to achieve required performance levels
*Make acoustic measurements on prototype headphones, earphones and handsets and other internal and customer application products
*Design small-signal audio analogue circuits using op-amps to create prototypes and products
*Use ORCAD schematic capture tool to create circuits required for the prototypes and demo products
*Use SMT soldering equipment to construct prototype digital and analogue circuits for the prototypes and demo products
*Use audio measurement equipment and oscilloscopes to debug and test the prototypes and demo products
*Analyse performance from acoustic measurements made on the prototypes and demo products
*Modify the prototypes and demo product designs through a series of design iterations based on measured performance
*Contributes in project meetings by sharing ideas and helping to problem-solve
*Understands, follows and contributes to the defined quality process
*Design Mechanical parts using 3D CAD design tools to create design files for prototype devices for the demonstrator units
*Support Field Applications teams in the field at customer sites Globally during integration activities

Problem Solving activities include:

*Design new audio and acoustic solutions to meet the specification
*Achieving "right first time" designs to save time

Skills/Attributes:
Essential:
*Degree or other higher level qualification in acoustics or other relevant field with more than 5 years relevant experience
*Solid acoustics knowledge
*Solid understanding of small-signal audio analogue circuit design, including op-amp differential amplifiers, filters, etc.
*Competent at SMT soldering
*Use of 3D CAD packages
*Competent user of Electronics and Audio test equipment
