Residential Childcare Worker

Lavoro Care are currently recruiting Residential Childcare Worker’s (RCW’s) to work with one of our clients, who are a specialist children’s residential care provider, on a permanent basis.

RCW’s will work as part of a team providing a comprehensive, residential service to children and young people aged 8-18 years who have emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and associated challenging behaviour

Ideal candidates will meet the following criteria:

• Commitment to the aims and objectives of the company whose service provides support to vulnerable individuals and is respectful of the individual’s wishes
• Have experience of working with children and young people in residential settings
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Knowledge and understanding of issues relating those with EBD and learning difficulties
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to effectively communicate with young people, their families and staff and professionals at all levels
• Be committed to an anti-discriminatory practice
• Be prepared to undertake all relevant training and development activities
• Be honest, reliable, self-motivated and flexible.
• Car drivers are preferred.

This role is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks including DBS clearance, references, ID and right to work checks.  The £44.00 cost of the DBS will be met by the candidate, but we also accept portable, enhanced DBS certificates.
