New opportunity to work with a team of Secretaries to provide an excellent typing and secretarial service to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department. This role will involve the candidate predominantly carrying out typing duties for differing fee earners and the Partner as and when required. The successful candidate, therefore must be willing to be flexible and adaptable.
Please note the majority of this role is audio typing.
We are looking for someone who has :
- Proven recent experience in a legal secretarial role
- Excellent audio typing skills (using digital dictation)
- Excellent telephone manner
- Experience using a case management system
- The ability to use their initiative and someone who thrives in a busy and fast-paced environment
The main duties of this role are:
- To provide direct support to a team of fee earners to enable the department to operate at optimum efficiency.
- To undertake all secretarial and typing duties in the department and be prepared to use a high degree of self management and initiative.
- To prepare accurate correspondence and documents through audio typing and word processing.
- To arrange appointments / meetings / travel and to maintain an up to date diary for a fee earner(s) as and when required.
- Deal with clients on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner.
- To provide typing support to other secretaries, junior secretaries and temporary secretaries.
- To ensure the confidentiality of all firm’s and client’s documentation and information.
- To administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files.
- Using office equipment, i.e. photocopier, fax etc competently.
