Our Client is recognised as one of the most successful further education colleges in the country. Awarded ‘Grade 1 – Outstanding’ in every area of Ofsted, their College Mission is “Innovative and enterprising people enabling excellent learning for employability and social fulfilment.” They aim to recruit people who are highly skilled and flexible and they are committed to the continuous development of their employees to ensure that they are able to effectively contribute towards the achievement of strategic objectives.

They now have an exciting opportunity for a Skills Trainer and Assessor in Electrical to join them where you will essentially recruit, induct, train, review, assess, monitor and track work based and work related candidates working in the relevant field based primarily but not exclusively on employers’ premises.

Within the role you will maintain a minimum student case load and undertake Internal Verification duties whilst contributing to the marketing, development delivery, assessment and evaluation of programmes, ensuring they meet market needs, contractual targets and performance criteria. Recruiting students onto programmes through new business activity, you will carry out initial assessment screening and reviews with students to ensure they are placed on an appropriate training programme, whilst delivering training and assessment on work related, ensuring they meet the employers and students needs and are to the standards set by awarding bodies.

They are looking for someone who has a relevant level 3 qualification in Electrical or equivalent, coupled with an Assessor qualification and Maths and English to at least Level 2. With substantial experience in this occupational area, you will have relevant and recent experience of assessing in the workplace and knowledge of local businesses within the geographical area.

An ability to work as part of a team is key, as is having excellent communication, organisation and time management skills. Above all, you will have an enthusiasm and commitment to providing an excellent service to employees and students, as well as an ability to respond to their needs. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel so a level of flexibility is required, as is having available transport.

Please refer to the Job Description/Person Specification when completing your application form.
