Graphic Designer
Location: Wilmslow
Reporting to: Senior Designer
Hours of work: Full time

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly creative and innovative graphic designer with an excellent portfolio to join a successful and growing organisation named one of the Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For 2015.

You will support the Senior Designer to assess marketing requirements and to deliver effective design solutions ensuring there is a concise brand message throughout all communication and design. You will work with the marketing team to develop new creative campaigns, manage the in-house print production and design creative and functional digital layouts.

You will be experienced in both print and digital design and your portfolio will showcase a wide range of engaging designs including branding, advertising, DM, event banners, marketing collateral, website and e-mails. You will also be experienced in creative high spec presentation designs and always keen to push the boundaries of what makes an exciting and effective presentation. You must be passionate about design, brands and trends and excel both creatively and technically.

It is essential that you can produce creative designs as well as print ready artwork, on time and to budget. You will need an excellent eye for layout, typography & detail. You will be encouraged to contribute to the entire design process from start to finish, with plenty of opportunity to progress and develop within the role. You will also have the ability and skill to stand in for the Senior Designer when required.

Skills and Experience Required

Essential
• Educated to degree/HND level (or equivalent) in a relevant creative subject
• Expertise in a professional graphic design capacity
• Proficient in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite, on Mac systems, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. CS5 and onwards preferred (we are on Adobe CC)
• A dynamic and enthusiastic approach to design
• Highly creative with the ability to think conceptually and clearly communicate ideas
• Ability to manage a creative campaign and implementing communication across multiple channels (print, web, email, DM, exhibitions and advertising)
• Strong web design skills. Understanding of web design restraints and experience working with developers
• The ability to multitask, perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• An excellent portfolio demonstrating design skills and technical ability
• Strong print management skills - ability to determine print specification, source print quotes, management of print and timely delivery
• Good communication skills and ability to present designs/ideas to relevant stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Naturally collaborative, but comfortable managing all aspects of the design process
• Confident to challenge design concepts and be challenged by others
• Good eye for detail and attention to type setting, understanding of good layouts, image sourcing and an efficient manner of working
• The ability to follow brand guidelines and work creatively within their constraints
• Ability to work well in a high pressure environment, handle multiple projects and estimate realistic deadlines
• Experience working with Microsoft PowerPoint and Word for design purposes - e.g. business tenders and presentations

Desirable
• Demonstrable professional design experience
• Both agency and in-house experience
• Previous experience within a busy marketing team would be advantageous
• Knowledge and understanding of B2B market
• Be able to contribute to the design team with efficient working practices and new ideas for design, new approaches and technologies
• HTML skills
• Experience working with Prezi or Keynote
