A global leading Derby based manufacturing company requires an Engineering Manager to join their expanding team.

They will ensure that the engineering department plays a key role in the business KPIs being achieved, and to do this in a systematic way through improved procedures, training and development.

Main Duties:

Take a lead and proactive role in the site's ongoing improving safety culture, particularly regarding risk assessments and managing external contractors on the sites 4-5 year electrical upgrade.

To design and implement planned maintenance schedules for the required maintenance of all plant and equipment and to monitor accordingly.

To work closely with internal and external resources to ensure all CAPEX projects are delivered safely and on time and budget.

To manage the activities of the maintenance team and to ensure that the planned preventative maintenance and unscheduled maintenance tasks are carried out to the required quality standards and within pre-determined time lines.

To ensure that the maintenance operatives are employed to maximum effect through the working day or shift.

To identify and diagnose faults and to carry out repairs, adjustments and other maintenance works as appropriate.

To work closely with procurement to design and maintain both critical and consumable spares lists, and implement 5S methodology throughout the engineering department.

To supervise and monitor all Maintenance Operators work on a daily basis, ensuring that hey are all working to the stated procedure and guidelines applicable to each task.

To ensure that Workplace Inspections are completed for the Maintenance Department. Implement corrective actions.

Management of the Maintenance Shift Rota; controlling absenteeism, holiday cover, planning of labour for scheduled maintenance.

Job Competencies

3 years experience in a similar role and sufficient qualifications or time served evidence to prove competency in all relevant engineering functions will be advantageous.

The right candidate will have excellent communication skills, both to reports, peers, senior management and production operatives.

Ideally the chosen candidate will have experience in an improving environment, with evidence highlighting individual impact to improvements.

Previous experience working closely with engineering parts and stock control.

A superb working knowledge of current relevant H&S standards.

The working hours will be Monday-Friday day shifts, with salary expectations between £32,000- £37,000 depending on experience.
