I am recruiting for an exciting and challenging permanent opportunity based in Southampton, for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a background in design. This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a global market leader within the water distribution industry.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Educated to degree level in either Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
* Strong experience within a Design role.
* Experience in developing mechanical hardware in a commercial environment.
* A competent user of at least one mechanical modelling package (ideally Solidworks, which is desirable).
Key Accountabilities:
* You will be reporting to the Hardware Director and you will be responsible for the development of mechanical hardware from concept through to production.
* Mechanical concept design and modelling.
* supporting BOM Maintenance.
* Verification and validation of mechanical hardware in accordance with test plans.
* Occasional "out of hours" working maybe required to complete specific tasks.
* Occasional "out of region" work may be required.
