Software Development Analyst - Fixed Term Contract - Wiltshire - GBP18,000 to GBP24,000

Do you dabble with games on the weekends? Have you ever heard of Yellow dog Linux? Are you passionate about developing for new platforms? If so this may be the role for you!

The successful candidate will be working on a specific programme to generate and develop new ideas; Our client is looking for fresh ideas and to give opportunities and work experience for these candidates.

Requirements:

• Candidates need to be able to adapt quickly, be self-motivated and identify who to go to, ask questions.
• The role is about developing concepts and is similar to a research based role. They will be involved in coming up with an idea, brain storming and the developing those concepts. They need to think about how they can make what the Programme Manager has asked happen.
• It is also looking at serious gaming; Converting gaming in to a serious and more professional environment. Look to add things and re-purpose it. Looking at how other technologies can be used and implemented and be more cost effective.
• They will be looking at using serious gaming as a visualisation technology. Virtualising high intensive graphic engines.
• Optimising for streaming graphics over the network for clients between the server and the client.
• Day-to-Day these candidates will be reporting in to the Programme Manager. There will be other experience people within the wider team that will help and provide guidance.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Java (this is key)
• Windows 7
• Linux -need to be able to understand Linux and perform basic navigation and console commands.
• University degree in Software Development

Desired Skills:

• Use of gaming technology
