Systems Centre Engineer - Third Line Support

We are currently looking for a highly technical individual with solid capability as a Third Line Support Engineer and the ability to support Business requirements and technology solutions.

You will need to have a broad technology background and have previous experience at an enterprise level with multi sites.

Our initial need if for someone to join our team currently working on a large Transformation programme where System Center Configuration Manager is used for patching and System Center Operations Manager is used for monitoring.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Business Requirements Specifications, Use Cases and Technical Requirements Specifications.
  • Support projects, integrated multiple systems (bespoke and COTS).
  • Provide technical support on projects, managing subject matter experts and application designers to ensure the coherency of end-to-end designs.
  • Ensure that technical dependencies are identified and managed throughout the project life cycle.
  • Ensure that compliancy to design is tracked through the project life cycle through to deployment.
  • Ensure documentation for systems design is maintained

Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience of performing a Systems Management Support Engineering role in a Service or Consultancy organization
  • Demonstrate experience of having worked on large scale technology projects circa GBP1 million+
  • Business Domain experience in some aspects of the following:
  • Extensive experience of supporting technically complex solutions throughout the complete IT life cycle ( Build, Test & Production)
  • Able to contribute to technical support, service support and provide innovation
  • Interface with project managers and other departments to ensure the support of multiple projects.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills - and be able to communicate effectively with Senior Management, Business Users and Technical staff.
  • Proven experience in working with multi-site teams, especially integrated offshore-onshore teams.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • 5 years plus experience in a Systems Management Support (third line support) role
  • Referenceable experience (preferably certified) on System Center Configuration Manager 2012 or System Center Operations Manager 2012
  • Also strong experience of using SCOM/SCCM/eventracker/patching when solving systems management issues.
