Customer Service Consultant

Wilmslow

GBP18,000 - GBP22,500 + benefits

Founded in 1861, our client is the largest mutual life and pensions company in the UK with Group funds under management of GBP73.5 billion.

We have exciting and challenging opportunities for Customer Support Consultants to join their Consumer Sales Team in Wilmslow supporting both existing and new customers. The team operates on a 'non advised 'basis, working with customers to help them make an informed choice.

The purpose of this role is to help consumers to purchase relevant products and services by providing factual information and assistance over the telephone, through web chat or other online methods. This will typically be in response to promotional activity (so the role does not involve 'cold calling') dealing with mainly inbound calls or making outbound calls to support maturing plans.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the delivery of the team's customer sales targets by introducing the Company's products and services to new and existing customers.
  • Delivering an exceptional customer experience whilst ensuring that process requirements and standards are met at all times.
  • Achieving or exceeding benchmark conversions of customer opportunities across the product range.
  • Following up on leads generated from other sources, eg customer services referrals, to effectively target appropriate customers within the mass market.

Key Skills, Behaviours & Experience required for this role:

  • Experience within professional customer services role, ideally from within a Financial Services environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong focus on the delivery of business results.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Flexibility, as you will work on a shift rota involving some weekday evening working and weekends.
  • Possess or desire to work towards CFP Qualifications, with an expectation of the role that you will achieve CFP1 within your first 12 months.

Hours: 35 hours per week from Mon - Fri 8am - 7pm and Sat/Sun 9am - 5pm.

(On average you will work 2 weekends out of a 6 week rota but not both days together. You always have your 2 days off together)
