Our client is a registered charity that provides care, support and advice to vulnerable people across Hampshire and Dorset, giving them the tools and resources they need to live independent, secure and valued lives.

They have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work alongside people with disabilities in a number of their services across Winchester, Test Valley, Emsworth, Hayling Island, Havant, Waterlooville, Fareham and Gosport.

As a Support Worker you will be assisting people with a Learning Disability, Physical Disability and Enduring Mental Health in their own homes to live the life they want.  You will provide safe, person centred support to promote independent living skills and help make a client’s hopes and wishes a reality.

The people they support have told them they are looking for people to support them who are fun to be with and have a good sense of humour to help them become more independent and achieve what they need when they need it.  Their interests are wide and varied and include sailing, swimming, gardening, going to the cinema/theatre, going out for meals and lots of different leisure activities as well as support with gaining daily life skills such personal care, medication, shopping, cooking, keeping their house clean, support to budget and not get into debt. They want a hardworking, reliable, polite, friendly and respectful person to do these things with.

Successful candidates will have experience of managing a case load, have relevant knowledge and skills relating to people with disabilities and be flexible and creative. You will also be able to travel within the contract area with the use of your own vehicle.
