IT provides Infrastructure support for over 20 remote sites and 2500 associates. The company is part of the TJX Companies which also owns other 'off-price' retail chains such as T.J. Maxx and Marshalls in the United States and Winners and Marshalls in Canada. As directed by line manager, perform duties which may include responsibilities for the operations, support, security, maintenance and analysis of the company's internal networks (voice, data and mobile), data and SQL servers, messaging, desktop architecture and other distributed systems across all TJXE sites. Preventing problems and resulting incidents from happening, eliminating recurring incidents and minimising the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented in accordance with a process-based model (Information Technology Infrastructure Library, ITIL). Supporting the delivery of new and existing Infrastructure to support the needs of the business. Supporting the operations and infrastructure, in ensuring a stable and scalable environment exist to meet the evolving needs of the business. Providing appropriate communication to line management about incidents and resolutions, perform regulatory controls in accordance with published standards; PCI, SOX, Change Control. Liaise with TJX and third parties to resolve issues as effectively as possible and supporting colleagues on the implementation of new technology. Part of the on-call rota, providing a level of technical support for the business 24/7. Deputise for Line management when required. Key Responsibilities; Operational Reporting
  • Record and respond in a timely manner to all incidents logged in the Incident Management Tool
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for information in a timely manner, as necessary
  • Provide appropriate communication to line management about incidents and resolutions
  • Perform and manage data backups
  • Perform key daily operational controls
  • Perform disaster recovery and resilience testing
  • Support Operations stability, providing reporting on key operational metrics
  • Communicate all planned system downtime through the Service Desk
  • Perform and report on Security Patch Management
  • Build all infrastructure following recommended standards and guidelines.
Business Planning & Analysis
  • Monitor and maintain performance of infrastructure located in TJX Europe Data Centres and Operation Rooms
  • Perform trend analysis and capacity planning, to proactively identify when systems require extra capacity to accommodate business growth
  • Review, evaluate and recommend improvements to the infrastructure
  • Support key operational metrics to ensure the business is focused on the critical issues
Customer Analysis
  • Manage and report on the Data Centres facilities located in Head Office
  • Create supporting documentation and provide training to colleagues
  • Record known issues and results of root cause analysis within the document library
  • Perform scheduled out-of-hours duties, when required
  • Participate in an out of hour's rota
  • Provide support and coaching for all levels of IT to increase 1st time resolutions.
  • Manage the purchase of and obtain competitive quotations for existing and new hardware and software working with GS&P
  • Support colleagues in the implementation of new technology
  • Follow TJX project management life cycle for Infrastructure projects
