Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer & Team Lead - Microsoft (Server, Active Directory), Cisco

My client is a well established brand and one of the most respected employers in south Wales looking to expand their IT Infrastructure team.

Due to continued successes, a vacancy has arisen for a senior Infrastructure Engineer to join in a Team Lead position. Day to day, this role will entail providing 3rd line support to core systems and utilising key Windows (Server, Exchange, Active Directory) and VMWare skills, and working on new implementations/upgrades. There will also be responsibility for coordinating the team of 5 engineers.

The ideal candidate will be a well versed 3rd line Infrastructure Engineer with strong Microsoft/Windows server and Active Directory skills, excellent VMWare experience and knowledge of networks (ideally Cisco). They will be personable and able to communicate with internal colleagues at all levels. Ideally they will have Team Lead/Management experience. The ideal candidate also needs to be familiar with web based environments.

Essential skills
- 3rd line Infrastructure Engineering
- Infrastructure Team Lead experience
- Windows (Server, Exchange, Active Directory, SQL)
- VMWare
- Networking (Cisco)
- Awareness of ITIL procedures
- Experience working in a web based environment

Desirable Skills
- Relevant qualifications (MCSE, CCNA etc.)
