This is truly one of the most interesting DBA roles to come to the market this year as it combines a large element of project work, DBA work and getting involved in ETL work.

There is also a great opportunity to be involved in business intellgence work if that fields interests you as well as the database administration side.

The team also attend SQL Server conferences so there is a real opportunity to enhance your knowledge through seminars attended.

Our client is an company which provides a mission critical service to some of the most important organisations in the UK. Therefore the work you will do for the user base and external clients provide will often be crucial.

To be considered for this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

- At least 2 years' previous experience in a SQL DBA role

- Strong experience with SQL Server 2005 to 2012

- Good hands-on skills with SSIS

- Some T-SQL coding experience

- Working with very large database sizes

The role will involve the following:

- DB management and administration

- Performance monitoring

- Assisting in project deployments

- Tuning and query optimisation

- Helping in the modifying and upgrading of ETL processes

- Operating existing ETL processes (Microsoft based)

- Disaster recovery work
