Technical Lead - 12 months - Newcastle

We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Lead to work as a part of the team, based in Newcastle.

The successful candidate will provide technical guidance to the project team, own the development life cycle and is responsible for identifying technical risks throughout the project and development plans to address.

Essential skills:

• Experience of Mainframe systems eg VME Cobol

• Experience of application modernisation

• Experience of Legacy systems (eg PSCS, JSAPS, ISCS, WFPS, SFCS)

• Experienced in designing and creating technical documents with the ability to produce documentation from a High Level design through to the production of the lower level designs thus providing an end to end design service.

• Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope.

• Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. May seek advice from Application Architect in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Ability to resolve constructively conflicting pressures and stake holders.

• Ability to interact and work closely with both technical & non technical staff in the deployment of solutions across a range of levels.

• The ability to manage priorities and maintain engagement across a number of projects at various phases of their life cycle.

• Experience on various hardware and software environments, including operating systems, application Servers and relational databases

• Competent in producing and delivering engaging and informative presentations.

• Responsible for understanding end to end complex systems.
