A leading Freight Forwarding/Logistics company is looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor who ideally would have come from a Freight Forwarding background to join their busy but fantastic team!

You will be responsible for the direct management, handling and the day to day planning of all warehousing and distribution functions at the organisation’s warehouse facilities on the night shift.  This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, picking and packing targets, as well as adherence to legislative, safety and organisational procedures and policies.  The warehouse supervisor is to accomplish a high level of quality and performance through their effective, strong, and fair leadership and decision making skills. 

Your typical duties will include -

Being responsible for Warehouse Operations/Procedures

Dealing with goods in and out and ensuring consignments are labeled, sorted and scanned.

Prioritising and issuing workload to members of staff throughout the shift.

Teaching staff how to carry out procedures correctly and safely, and that the warehouse area is organised, clean and tidy.

Helping the team with discrepancies and problems and resolve them.

Manage underperforming members of staff and motivate the team to achieve targets.

Meeting timed targets – monitor, document and report daily agreed KPI’s.

Hold weekly team meetings.

Manage staff holidays and arrange cover as required, and manage sickness records.

General supervisory duties and provide full support to Warehouse Manager.

General ad hoc Warehouse duties.

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience in such a role.  They will need to possess strong leadership and motivational skills, have excellent organisational and time management skills, most importantly, be able to cope under pressure and work to tight deadlines, prioritising workloads.

Hours have not been confirmed as yet, but more than likely will be 2pm - 10pm, and possibly 4 on 4 off.  Weekend work will be involved as a part of this.
